About Colonial Stone Restoration

Four decades of stone restoration, one standard

Most floor companies clean. We restore. Since 1986, Colonial Stone Restoration has been Dallas–Fort Worth's trusted name for bringing damaged, dull, and etched natural stone back to life: the work other crews can't, or won't, take on.

Our story: the company other contractors call

Colonial Stone Restoration was founded in 1986 by Jim Provence, starting humbly with a single van. By 1991, we'd grown into a sizable operation in the hard-surface cleaning industry. Through the mid-1990s we expanded further, into tile and specialty cleaning, and earned recognition among the most respected names in the DFW floor care industry.

As the work evolved, so did we. In the early 2000s we moved deeper into natural stone, then into concrete polishing and specialty restoration. Today we focus on the complex hard-surface problems that demand a higher level of skill: etching, deep staining, pitting, and structural wear that general cleaners aren't equipped to solve.

What sets us apart

  • We restore, we don't just clean. Routine maintenance is a different business. We solve damage: the etching, staining, and wear other crews can't fix.
  • We're retained as consultants. Insurance adjusters, property managers, and contractors hire us as third-party experts to assess disputed restoration work across DFW.
  • We coach the competition. Other DFW contractors, many of them friends, bring us in to teach them how to do this work properly.
  • Same owner since 1986. No corporate call center. Jim takes the call and personally walks every estimate, because every job carries his name.

What we restore

Common questions

Is Colonial Stone Restoration family-owned?
Yes. We've been family-owned and founder-led since Jim Provence started the company in 1986, nearly four decades of the same standard and the same owner on every estimate.
How long has Colonial Stone Restoration been in business?
Since 1986, about forty years serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
Do you work on both homes and businesses?
Yes. We restore stone and hard-surface floors for both residential and commercial clients across DFW.
What makes you different from a floor cleaning company?
We restore rather than maintain. We fix etching, staining, scratches, and structural wear that routine cleaning can't, and we're retained as third-party consultants and trainers because of that expertise.
Who actually does the work?
Jim Provence personally walks every estimate, and our trained technicians carry out the restoration to his standard.
